For all the pomp and bluster, for all of the arrogance and derision towards others, Blitzø is a deeply insecure and self-loathing person.
This stems from a lot of different reasons - primarily, because of his upbringing and because of his class, Blitzø has developed a complex about being respected and adored. Imps are perceived in Hell as the lowest of the low, the working class and the servants of wealthier demons; this environment leads very few avenues for an imp to become at all admired or famous. Since Blitzø was unable to earn adoration as a clown in his youth, he's taken to trying to gain some semblance of control and notoriety by becoming a hitman for sinners in Hell.
This background contextualizes Blitzø's demeanor to the average person - a balancing act between being grossly rude and offensive, but encouraging and attempting to be funny. He wants to be liked, admired, and adored and will be helpful and supportive, knowing such things are important. But he also wants to be respected and to be taken seriously, and only knows how to do so by forcing himself into positions of power or authority over others.
Though Blitzø can have some degree of self awareness, he is THOROUGHLY bad at introspection. Everything he does feels justified to him, and he knows his intentions are decent, so everyone should know that. He may genuinely want to provide and help the people he cares for, but he is so traumatized and terrified of losing connections that he ends up being the first to run away or keep the other person at a distance. Stolas and Moxxie are the clearest examples of this, as both of them attempt to understand and bond with Blitzø and are more often met with the imp's derision and impatience. He doesn't do well feeling trapped, vulnerable or powerless, and will typically end up convincing himself that he never cared in the first place so that the supposedly inevitable moment that "everybody leaves" doesn't hurt him. As we see in an intense hallucination he experiences, Blitzø has deep, resentful feelings towards himself and when not being toxic and projecting that hurt by lashing out on others, he's self-destructively hating himself down to the very marrow.
For all of his flaws, however, Blitzø does have convictions and genuine kindness backing his actions. He trusts and supports his employees, whom he regards as his family, and he is supportive and encouraging more often than he is toxic and shitty. He very deeply values family and affection - his adoption of Loona tends to show him very actively trying to be a loving, supportive, caring father (likely in sharp contrast to his own father, who could have cared less about him). He shows intense determination and dedication to taking care of those he considers his own, always having their back even if he gets frustrated with them.
Those who get to know him better get to see him a bit more genuinely - a goofball that ADORES horses, thinks blood and guts and pirates are cool, has shitty gallows humor, and just wants to do an actually good job at whatever he sets out to do. Though he still has a lot to learn in terms of boundaries with people he cares for, his protectiveness and clinginess is not born out of a sense of owning others or being owed their love, but rather out of a desperate need to be valued as worthy of it.
Abilities & Inventory: Blitzø's only abilities come from being an imp, which grant him an immunity to earthly flame and a strong prehensile tail. He has a couple of guns on his hip, especially his favored golden percussion pistol, which he likely keeps because it's "cool". He'll also have his phone, which inevitably will run out of battery during his stay.
Suitability & Plans: I think one of the more interesting opportunities that Songerein offers is the opportunity to write Blitzø confronted with his traumas and his toxic behaviors, and see where the dream setting and the way overlapping dreams causes characters to unintentionally expose their feelings and beliefs will differ from how the canon itself intends to shake out. Blitzø is a very dishonest character by default and exploring the dynamic with cross-canon CR and castmates alike sounds like a blast!
I think that Blitzø will act as if he's fitting right in easily, but that will be an act to cover up how grossly out-of-place he actually would be. He's not in Hell, and he's not dealing with unanimously garbage people (i.e. targets in the still-living world)... and he will have to figure out really quickly that he can't just bullshit his way out of getting to know the other people that are also living in this dream space with him. And most importantly, he's going to have to confront the fact that he could be left behind by the people he does care about/might come to care about here. Basically, I'm pretty excited to make dreaming a bit of a nightmare for Blitzø.
Blitzø will probably be very entangled in a lot of other characters' development, cross-canon and canonmate alike, and it'll be a long time before he starts 'growing into his own'. I'm eager to see where the flow of CR ends up taking him!
